They had minimal generators (No water park, no food, no activities were working) so all guests had to return to their rooms or common areas. We had to finish changing with our phone lights. However, while we were changing after the water park, the lights went out. On our last day, we had planned to enjoy the water park then some dry activities (golfing and bowling). I had to be very alert and diligent in navigating my children through the overcrowding and kids coughing without covering their mouths. Staff were constantly yelling over the noise for families to stay 6 ft apart especially while waiting in line but people don’t listen and a lot of the kids were running around unsupervised. However, masks don’t have to be worn in the water park and even with decrease capacity, the water park was a little too crowded for me. It was also nice to see workers reminding guests that masks need to be worn and having them readily available for those that didn’t have them. I have to say this was an outlier incident as most of stay the staff was attentive in cleaning public areas right away. There was a staff member walking around sanitizing the chairs as guest left however that area stayed that way and my family and I end up going inside after about 20 min. A group of disgusting guests left their masks, food containers, and empty drink bottles under one of the umbrellas on the ground. There was one day where the outside water park was disgusting. It was nice to see workers constantly cleaning common areas around the resort and inside water park. We pulled out our bag of cleaning products and cleaned the room ourselves before letting the children touch anything. This led me to believe the dusting and cleaning in the “nooks and crannies” wasn’t happening. We had the kid cabin and there were a pair of dirty socks from a previous guest behind the head of the bunk bed. However, the bathroom curtain was disgusting. Cleanliness and sanitation: Our room appeared to have most touched surfaces cleaned. After speaking to 2 supervisors a 3rd agreed to take $50 off a night, which was kind, but I’m not sure that $419 a night is worth it. Most of us had our vacation time taking away at one point due to Covid and don’t know when it will happen again but I digress. Why advertise it during peak season then? Especially for healthcare workers who can’t plan 60 days in advance during this time of Covid. So I called and was told most times it won’t work during peak season blah blah blah there’s nothing we can do for you. They advertised a promotion for summer through the end of July I believe with up to 40% off and a code for healthcare workers with up to 30% off. I had unexpected time off and saw a Groupon deal, however of course all the most recent dates were taken so I went to the establishment’s website. Our room appeared to have most touched surfaces cleaned.
